VISA

Not required for most nationalities for stays of up to 90 days. Passports must be valid for six months beyond date of entry. Members of the Schengen states need not to apply for a visa, as well as Brazil.

LANGUAGE

The official language of Morocco is Arabic and is taught in schools. But often you will listen Moroccan Arabic known as Darija, quite different from classical Arabic.
But there is a part of the population that speaks The population in the mountain areas speak Berber, in the north the dialect is Tarifit and in some parts of the center they speak Tamazight and in the south they speak Tachelheet.
French is considered the second official language and is easily understood by most of the population.

CURRENCY

The Moroccan currency is the Dirham. Euros, Sterling and Dollars can be changed at a bank or an exchange office. You will be given a receipt, which will be required at the end of your stay to change any excess Dirhams back into the original currency. Money can be withdrawn in banks with a credit/debit card or directly from a cash machines. Credit cards are generally accepted in big hotels and restaurants., but most of the small Riads or Kasbahs do not accept payments with any type of cards.

DRINKS

It is not advisable to drink tap water in Morocco. although most locals drink it because their organism is used to it. It is safer to drink bottled water.
The mint tea is certainly what you will drink more often during the journey. It is a ritual and a welcoming gesture, sharing a cup of tea is sharing a ritual and traditions and will make you feel like home.

ELECTRICITY

220 volts in new buildings.
The frequency used is 50 Hz. Power points are of the French type (European two-pin sockets).

RAMADAN

Ramadan is a month of fasting in which Muslims do not eat or drink since sunrise to sunset. Restaurants and museums throughout Morocco are subject to reduced opening hours and you may find restrictions to their services. This could even be an interesting time to visit Morocco as the streets will be very busy during the late evening hours and thousands of people pray on the big squares in front of big mosques. The approximate dates of Ramadan 2015 are 18th June to 19th July.

HAMMAMS

Hammam in Arabic literally means “shower”. It is place where the Moroccans have an intense body scrub, including hair. IT is well known in Morocco that you are not completely clean until you have a Hammam. It cleanses body and soul.
There are two types of Hammams in Morocco, the traditional ones, used by the locals and the most touristic ones. The Hammams in hotels are a great option for those who want to enjoy an exfoliation done by a professional. If you really like something more intense, you can choose to go for the traditional one and have the opportunity to share a ritual with the locals.The Hammams are separated, men and women, or at least have different schedules.

Travel to Morocco by Plane:

The international airport of Casablanca, Mohamed V, is the largest and most important airport in Morocco. Royal Air Maroc, oficial aircompany flies from many airports to Casablanca. You can after take a domestic flights to many other cities.

With the opening of the Moroccan airspace, there are other airlines flying to other Moroccan cities. Some low-cost airlines began flying here making the flights cost much more accessible. Travel to Morocco by Ferry:

Numerous ferry services from Europe are also na option than flying, crossing to Africa and connecting Morocco to the European rail network.
There are extensive ferry links between northern Morocco and southern Europe, the most popular of which is Algeciras (Spain) to Tangier. From southern Spain and northern Morocco, you can just turn up at the dock and buy a ticket for the next ferry, but book in advance during high season.
