    Itinerary

Day 1:Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Skoura

Your 3 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga begins as you travel through the winding roads of the High Atlas Mountains. The landscapes shift rapidly from terraced fields to deep gorges and small Berber villages perched along the cliffs. As you approach the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in Morocco, breathtaking mountain views unfold at every turn.

Descending into the southern foothills, you arrive at the world-famous Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most iconic kasbahs in Morocco. Spend time exploring its maze-like alleys, earthen towers, and ancient granaries while learning about the families who still live within its walls. Standing atop the ksar offers a stunning panoramic look over the river and surrounding desert plains.

Continue your journey to Ouarzazate, often called “the gateway to the Sahara.” Here, you may visit the impressive Kasbah Taourirte, an architectural gem that once belonged to the influential Glaoui family. Its intricate design and historic ambiance make it one of the most memorable kasbahs in the region.

Just a short drive further lies the lush Skoura Oasis, where endless palms and traditional mud-brick homes create a peaceful haven. A guided visit to the 17th-century Kasbah Amerhidil reveals the artistry and defensive ingenuity of Morocco’s historic kasbahs.
Dinner and overnight in a charming oasis hotel surrounded by palm trees.

Day 2:Skoura → Erg Chebbi Dunes (Merzouga)

The landscapes become more arid as you head deeper toward the desert, passing small villages and rocky plains that hint at the Sahara’s proximity. By the afternoon, the iconic golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon a breathtaking introduction to the vastness of the Moroccan Sahara.

Upon arrival at your desert auberge, take time to prepare for an unforgettable camel trek. Riding atop your camel, you’ll glide across the dunes as the sun slowly descends, painting the sky with shades of gold, apricot, and rose. It is one of the most magical moments of any desert adventure.

As night falls, arrive at your private Berber-style camp, set in a peaceful section of the dunes. Enjoy a traditional dinner around the fire, listen to the rhythmic beats of local drums, and gaze up at thousands of stars shining brighter than anywhere in the cities.

    Day 3:Erg Chebbi → Alnif → Agdz → Marrakech

Wake early to witness the desert sunrise, an experience that captures the Sahara’s beauty like no other. After breakfast, begin the journey back toward Marrakech. The route leads through Alnif, an area known for its desert rock formations and fossils, and then into the impressive landscapes of the Drâa Valley.

The valley is lined with thousands of date palms, ancient kasbahs, and traditional mud-brick villages, offering a final glimpse of the southern Moroccan way of life. As you approach the High Atlas once again, the scenery shifts to dramatic mountain passes, fertile plains, and winding roads carved through rugged terrain.

By late afternoon or early evening, return to Marrakech, where you are dropped off at your riad bringing your Sahara adventure to an end, but leaving you with memories that will last for years.
