    Itinerary

Day 1:Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Agdz

Your 4 days camel trekking Marrakech to Erg Chegaga starts with leaving Marrakech and heading up into the High Atlas Mountains. The route goes through narrow valleys, small Berber villages made from red earth, and viewpoints that look over the mountain peaks.

Going over Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest in Morocco, gives you great views of farmland and winding mountain roads. A key stop is Ait Ben Haddou, a famous ksar with earthen buildings, narrow paths, and strong walls that have been used in many movies.

You then head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” and continue south to Agdz. The area changes from rocky plateaus to the start of the Drâa Valley. In Agdz, you stay in a Kasbah-style hotel where the traditional design and calm desert atmosphere make for a quiet evening.

    Day 2:Agdz - Tamegroute - Mhamid - Erg Chigaga

After breakfast, you head towards the Sahara. The first stop is Tamegroute, a village known for its ancient underground library that holds rare manuscripts on science, astronomy, religion, and poetry. The village is also famous for its green-glazed pottery, made using old techniques.

Moving south, you pass through Mhamid, the last village before the desert begins. Here, the land becomes more open, and the roads get rougher as you approach the dunes of Erg Chigaga. In the afternoon, you meet your camel caravan at the starting point.

The trek begins, taking you over the golden sands and changing views. As the sun sets, the sky turns warm colors, painting the desert in beautiful hues. At your Berber camp, you enjoy a traditional meal by the fire before sleeping in a comfortable tent under the stars.

    Day 3:Erg Chigaga - Zagora

The desert has its own quiet rhythm, and watching the sunrise is one of the most beautiful moments. Early in the morning, you climb a dune to see the sun rise slowly over the horizon, lighting up the sands in orange and gold.

After breakfast, another camel ride takes you back across the dunes. You then head towards Zagora, a peaceful town with palm trees, gardens, and a relaxing atmosphere. Upon arrival, you check into a charming auberge surrounded by greenery. You can spend the afternoon walking in the gardens, relaxing by the pool, or just taking in the quiet. It’s a great way to rest after your desert adventures.

Day 4:Zagora - Drâa Valley - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

Your last day starts with a drive through the Drâa Valley, one of Morocco’s longest and most fertile river valleys. The road follows long stretches of palm groves, ancient kasbahs, and small Berber settlements along the river.

As the journey continues, you head back toward the High Atlas Mountains, crossing through their dramatic landscapes once more before going down to the plains leading into Marrakech. By afternoon, you arrive back in the city, ending an unforgettable four-day desert adventure.
