    Itinerary

Day 1:Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Gorges

Your 4 Days Camel Trekking to Erg Chebbi  begins with a scenic journey into the High Atlas Mountains. As the road rises toward the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic, revealing terraced farmland, winding valleys, and traditional Berber villages built into the hillsides. The fresh mountain air and panoramic lookouts make the drive truly memorable.

Midway through the day, you’ll explore the world-famous Ait Ben Haddou, a beautifully preserved ksar recognized by UNESCO for its historical and architectural value. Its labyrinth of earthen alleyways and towering kasbahs provide a glimpse into Morocco’s ancient way of life. Many iconic films and series have been shot here, making it a must-see.

After the visit, the route continues toward the Dades Valley, where the landscapes shift from flat plains to dramatic rock formations. The closer you get to Dades Gorges, the more impressive the scenery becomes deep canyons, rugged cliffs, and winding roads create a breathtaking setting. Your evening will be spent in a charming mountain auberge, where dinner is served in the peaceful atmosphere of the valley.

Day 2:Dades Valley – Tinghir – Erg Chebbi

The morning begins with beautiful views over the Dades Mountains before continuing toward one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural wonders: Todra Gorges. The canyon’s towering limestone walls rise vertically on both sides, creating a striking contrast of shadow and light. You’ll have time to wander through the gorge, enjoy the refreshing atmosphere, and take in the impressive scale of the cliffs.

As the landscape opens up again, the road leads deeper toward the desert region. Village by village, the scenery becomes drier and more open until the golden silhouettes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon. These are some of the highest sand dunes in the country, and they create an extraordinary backdrop at sunset.

Your accommodation for the night is a traditional auberge facing the dunes, where you can relax and enjoy dinner with the desert as your view.

    Day 3:Exploring Erg Chebbi

This day is dedicated to discovering the cultural and natural treasures surrounding Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, you’ll travel around the region, starting with a visit to Khamlia, a peaceful village known for its Gnawa musicians whose rhythms come from old African traditions. The music, hospitality, and desert atmosphere make this stop special.

The journey continues across sandy tracks toward the nearby plateau, where you’ll meet a nomadic family that still lives in the Sahara following ancient traditions. Sharing tea with them offers a meaningful look into their daily life.

You’ll also explore areas rich in fossils, pass by the largest local lake when filled, and see the beautiful palm-lined oases that surround Merzouga village. These landscapes highlight the surprising diversity of life on the desert’s edge.

Later in the afternoon, you’ll prepare for your camel trek. Riding into the dunes at sunset is one of the most iconic experiences in Morocco. The colors shift from gold to deep orange as the sun sinks behind the horizon.

Your night will be spent in a private Berber camp nestled among the dunes. Enjoy dinner under the stars, traditional music around the fire, and one of the clearest skies you’ll ever see.

    Day 4:Erg Chebbi – Alnif – Agdz – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After enjoying breakfast in Merzouga, the return journey to Marrakech begins, revealing a different side of southern Morocco. The route leads through Alnif and Agdz, two peaceful towns known for their authenticity and their connection to the beautiful Drâa Valley, one of the longest valleys in the country. The landscape is filled with palm groves, old kasbahs, and volcanic formations.

Continuing north, the road passes through Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert.” It’s famous for its film studios and desert scenery used in many international productions. You’ll have time to enjoy the view or take a short break before continuing across the High Atlas Mountains. By late afternoon or early evening, you arrive back in Marrakech, marking the end of your 4 Days Camel Trekking to Erg Chebbi .
